MOLDINGS
|

When installing a hardwood floor, we need to leave room for expansion. This is accomplished by leaving a gap around the perimeter of the floor. This amount is established by industry standards. For aesthetic reasons, we install moldings.

Reducer Strip
Reducer moldings are used to smoothly taper the edge of the wood floor down onto another surface NOT USED WITH FLOATING INSTALLATION METHOD. Reducer moldings are made of solid wood and come in several sizes depending on the manufacturer. Reducer moldings are glued in place to the subfloor with construction adhesive and/or face nailed using 8 penny finish nails. Although molding colors compliment the flooring color chosen, they may not be a perfect match. |

T-Molding
T-moldings are used as a transition piece between two floors that are of the same height. T-moldings are made of solid wood and come in several sizes depending on the manufacturer. T-moldings are glued in place to the subfloor with construction adhesive and/or face nailed using 8 penny finish nails. Molding colors compliment the flooring color chosen, they may not be a perfect match.
